The Art Assignment

New Fountain Pens!

Playing with my new fountain pens and Waterman ink. It’s not fun unless a mess is involved.

Watercolor Washes

I did some watercolor washes so I could play with them in Photoshop and Illustrator.

Uh-Oh!

The verdict is in that a gluten-free diet prevents the constant pain I’ve experienced since July. In two days the pain diminished. In one week, I was in no pain at all. I bought my first gluten-free cookbooks, and I’m spending nearly every day in the kitchen preparing meals and doing dishes. My reading alternates short story collections and novels to cookbooks. Already I’m thinking about stories and poems I want to write about the gluten-free diet. I started a food blog. So here’s to health and to keep writing!

Carrie by Stephen King

I know, I know. How can you be an avid reader and not read anything by Stephen King other than “On Writing”? Well, I have remedied that. I finished reading “Carrie.” It is the 17th book I’ve finished this year.

Capacity by Theo Ellsworth

I finished reading “Capacity” by Theo Ellsworth. If you are an artist, this is a must read book. Also check out “Capacity Number Eight.” Ellsworth’s book “The Understanding Monster Book One” is next on my reading list.

Watercolor Experiments

Digital Workshop

I started my digital workshop with Merrill Rainey. So far I have been introduced to the tools of Photoshop and Illustrator. These are my first vectors in Illustrator.
