Tell Me About It by Anne Waldman
I picked up a copy of “Tell Me About It: Poems for Painters” by Anne Waldman at the library. Since I’m interested in ekphrasis (art in response to art), it was interesting to read her interpretations and imagine a new visual for her poetry.
John King Books
This time I visited the John King Books store in Ferndale. I got the complete poetry of Carl Sandburg, “The Summer Book” by Tove Jansson, “Howl” by Allen Ginsberg, and “Lunch Poems” by Frank O’Hara. If you’re in the market for writers’ letters, journals, diaries, and biographies, definitely visit the Ferndale location.
Howl
I watched the movie “Howl.” I’m glad that I read “Jack Kerouac: A Biography” by Michael J. Dittman, because it was interesting to see what Ginsberg thought of Kerouac. The music was done by Carter Burwell, one of my favorite movie composers, and the compilation of the poem with interviews and court transcripts was fascinating.

Today is a record. I have not finished NaNo prior to November 30, so to finish on November 28 with 50,396 words is pretty awesome. To sleeping for a full eight hours and writing more poetry, I welcome December.
