“In the House Upon the Dirt Between the Lake and the Woods” is Matt Bell‘s first novel. His short story collection “How They Were Found” and novella “Cataclysm Baby” are also worthwhile reads. The wife sings objects into being and the husband builds the house. The couple tries to create a family but each pregnancy fails. Then they have a son.
This is one of the best novels I’ve read this year. Check it out.
