Nightwish
I finished the fourth Nightwish album (“Century Child”) for the cut out poetry project. I was lucky enough to see them perform the newest album, “Endless Forms Most Beautiful.” Meeting Troy, Marco, and Tuomas was exciting, since I’ve been a fan for three years.
Submissions
That crazy goal of mine for the year, the one where I submit 250 times to literary magazines?
I’m at 75.
To date, I’ve submitted 143 times total. I submitted 35 times in 2011, 11 times in 2012, 11 times in 2013, 11 times in 2014, and 75 times in 2015.
And this year, I’ve received the nicest rejection letter.
Submitting 250 times seems more achievable.
Failed Novel to Graphic Novel
I have attempted Charlotte’s story in multiple novel drafts. I still haven’t found the perfect form, but the graphic novel was a great experiment. Choosing a medium was difficult, considering my attachment to charcoal and watercolor, plus the addition of copic markers.
Here is my medium experiment.
And some of my final panels.

New Typewriter!
On a whim, I visited the local antique store. I am always in the market for a typewriter. And this time, there were two! A portable Empire and a Remington. I purchased the Empire. A friend of mine helped me clean it and the Smith Corona I previously acquired. With the aid of toothbrushes, bottle brushes, q-tips, and cotton balls, and magic erasers, denatured alcohol, and goo gone, the keys and cases are much cleaner.
