Divergent by Veronica Roth
I’ve heard about “Divergent” by Veronica Roth a while back and put it on my to-read list. But after seeing the movie trailer when I went to see the new Hobbit film, I went to the bookstore. I finished the book in less than 24 hours. Now on to book two.
Book Workshop
I’ve made an accordion book before but never added a sewn signature. Today I also made a Turkish Map Fold Book and a Blizzard Book at the Art Supply Depo workshop.
John King Books
This time I visited the John King Books store in Ferndale. I got the complete poetry of Carl Sandburg, “The Summer Book” by Tove Jansson, “Howl” by Allen Ginsberg, and “Lunch Poems” by Frank O’Hara. If you’re in the market for writers’ letters, journals, diaries, and biographies, definitely visit the Ferndale location.
Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson
I finished reading “Wintergirls” by Laurie Halse Anderson. Anderson uses great structure and tackles complicated subjects. Of Anderson’s five YA novels, I’ve read four. “Prom” is on my bookshelf, waiting to be read.
First Bookbinding Lesson
I made my first book today. I cut the pages, sewed the signature together and folded the cover.
