Art Journal
I started my art journal based on “No Excuses Art Journaling: Making Time for Creativity” by Gina Rossi Armfield. And I organized my fountain pens and inks, so I can use those in my journal too.
Bookbinding Day Two
This is day two of bookbinding fun. Day One consisted of choosing which patterns to use, cutting the paper and Davey board, and gluing the paper to the Davey board. And today, Day Two, was sewing day. Tomorrow will finish the last round of glue.
Goals for 2014
Even though I didn’t reach all of my productivity goals for 2013, I made significant progress and started making productivity more of a habit. So in 2014 I will continue being productive and add new skills, like Photoshop, Illustrator, acrylic painting, sketching, and other art projects, as well as continue writing. My word for 2014 …
Charcoal experiment
I’ve been playing with different charcoal techniques, especially with the chunky colors. For two days I experimented with pastel, toned tan, and toned gray papers. Here are some of the pieces I made.
Goals for 2013
My 2012 goal of Create was a success. I made more paintings. I didn’t make much progress on the music quilt, but maybe 2013 will be nicer to it. Wrote several poems and letters I am proud of, finished NaNo, and worked on short stories. My 2013 word for the year is Productivity. I already …
Prompt–Monday, March 12
I’m nearly finished with “Finding Yourself in Transition” by Robert Brumet. One of his quotes: “Creation begins with emptiness. It is from emptiness that new life emerges” (Brumet 87). Write something inspired by the quote. The pale sand is ready to bear witness to art as plastic molds turrets.
Afghan–Complete!
I’ve been working on crocheting this afghan for several years. Not sure exactly when I started it, but I did finish today. It’s one of my favorite crochet patterns I found on a yarn label years ago. I use it for scarves, baby blankets, and afghans. What a relief to finish a large project.
