NaNo–Day 9

I now have 15662 words written. I went to my favorite coffee shop and enjoyed raspberry hot cocoa as I wrote. And of course, I needed some research materials so I picked up three history books as references and for inspiration.

NaNo–Day 8

I am now at 14,235 words. Yesterday was a slow day. I am still reeling from the writing session on Sunday because it was amazing. And now all I have to do is top it! And a note to my future self: do as many of the chores as possible before NaNo. Laundry, recyclable items, …

NaNo–Day 6

So I was able to get caught up from yesterday. My nap lasted longer than expected. But it is okay because I was able to make it to 10737 words. Definitely getting a better idea of this novel’s shape and characters. And it helps that I was able to get my new laptop today. I …

NaNo–Day 4

I did not make a lot of progress yesterday, but I made up for it. I am pleased with the 7828 words I have so far. And 3314 of them occurred this morning.

NaNo–Day 2

Day two is over. In two different writing sessions and a brainstorming session in between sessions, I was able to make it to 4063 words. Novel number four is looking pretty good.

NaNo–Day 1

The first day of NaNo went well! I wrote 1824 words, going above and beyond the goal of 1667 for the first day. I had my last lunch (it wasn’t Ramen) before NaNo started. I couldn’t recall the last time I ate soup that wasn’t Ramen or wasn’t made by myself.

NaNoWriMo 2012 Preparations

It’s almost November! This year will be my fourth NaNo. To prepare for the challenge, I bought a new journal from Under the Mango Tree while I was at the Ohio Renaissance Festival. And it will be my NaNo 2012 notebook. Already I’ve made lists of potential places to visit in my time-traveling novel, like Charlotte Corday’s death, …

50119–NaNo

So NaNo is over for this year. At least until I start editing in December after a long nap, deep-cleaning my living quarters, and receiving my treat for finishing a novel in a month with a sprained finger–dinner at Naslada, one of my favorite restaurants in town. I brainstormed on Monday and put those lines …

46408–NaNo

I typed last night after getting home from work, about 11:15 till midnight. After working on two of the five remaining scenes and brainstorming heavily throughout the day, the novel is 46,408 words long. Three more days! Yesterday I finished reading Jack Kerouac’s “Book of Haikus.” Lots of good ones. I’m going to invest in …

45038–NaNo

Yesterday I had a total of 42,314 words, and today after my writing session I have 45,038. So close to the legendary 50,000! I am pleased though that I was able to catch up. Spraining your finger during NaNo is not something I’d recommend, but at least NaNo 2011 will be a NaNo to remember. I have …
