Cooking Adventures
This week has been a cooking adventure. I made gumbo (a slightly different recipe than I normally use) and pralines on the same day. When I cut the green pepper, it was shaped like a miniature boat. For the very first time, I made stuffed flounder. I didn’t have to eat for the rest of the day because it was so filling.
And of course, the strawberry cake below when I realized I only had five eggs. It is from the Romanian Cookbook, called the Inexpensive Layer Cake I.
My sister gave me two cookbooks (Double Take and Cuba Cocina), and I’ve been trying recipes from them. I’ve also been flipping through my Finnish cookbook. So prepare for rye bread and fish dishes.
